Well, tomorrow is grocery shopping day for me so pray that I find some great deals when shopping. I buy a lot of store brand items anyway but I can always use prayer. When creating our menus on Fridays, I make a list recipes for the week (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), many old and a few new ones that I find in cookbooks that look interesting and fairly easy to try. Here is a list of common pantry items that I always try to keep on hand. If I have these items, I can make a meal in no time flat. So before I start my shopping I scan my pantry, refrigerator and cabinets for missing items. Then I check those missing items on my printed list and I add any additional items that may be needed for certain recipes. This is a real time saver for me. So here's a list of my pantry "must haves".

apples, bananas, oranges, lemons, onions, potatoes, salad mix, green peppers, red peppers, cabbage, and broccoli
Meats:
chicken, fish fillets, ground beef or turkey, sausage, bacon, bacon bits, walnuts, and peanuts

Canned Goods:
beans, broths, tuna, chicken, fruit, mushrooms, soups (cream of mushroom and chicken soup are MUST haves), diced tomatoes, rotel, pizza sauces, pasta sauces, and vegetables
Baking items:
frosting, sugar(granulated, powdered, and brown), vanilla flavoring, cooking spray, cooking oil, and spices (cinnamon and nutmeg are my must haves)

Your list of staples looks a lot like mine. It is nice to know that there is always something on hand when I need it!
Hi Kysha,
You've inspired me to get my act together tonight and come up with a grocery list. I'm always so happy when I'm organized. It really sets the tone of our school week!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your sweet comment!
I need to do the same thing. I only grocery shop once a month. So my big day is coming Thursday.
thanks for stopping by!
you site is beautiful. and i agree with your pantry must-haves!
I don't hate soda, but I don't drink it either. Your pantry picks list looks alot like mine. I especially noticed the onion soup mix. I love that stuff! It's useful in such a variety of ways. Praying you find tons of great deals.
I buy alot of the same..lol. Only mine has a ton of different flours because I am trying to learn to bake bread ;-) I have a bread maker but would love to do it by hand...something about kneading that dough! It also gives me time to pray and seek the Lord...HE was always eating it in the Bible.. so it brings me a little closer to Him :-) I also keep alot of flour on hand to make bisquits, dinner rolls, pie crusts, etc...it saves ALOT of money because a .99 bag of flour (well I get the 10 lb bags now..lol) can make all of those and then some! Happy Planning!
