These are the poems that my dc wrote from their nature study yesterday. All are different as they expressed themselves in their individual ways. This is their first time creating their personal poems. We have studied poets and poems but never really created our own. It was a little like pulling teeth to get them to do what they originally believed to be "girly" so I am proud of their efforts. Prayfully, I can extract more creativity from this area.
The Beautiful Stream by Sneaker
I walked through the woods
that laid before me.
It was quiet, peaceful and not able
to hear a bee.
I saw the blue icy lake that waved in
different directions
which made me wonder how God created this earth.
When I come back to the beautiful stream
this is where I begin to dream.
Woods by Politician
Dawn falls down,
there is no sound.
Not even a bird,
even a heard.
But no man can break
one single shape of the
beautiful lake.
Why can't you hear a
sound of a tear?
Because love of the forest
is near.
Deer, O, I fear
because love of the forest
I feel.
I Hear by Old Man
Left and right I hear the sound
of wind.
Crumble, crumble, crumble,
I hear the sound of nuts crumbling
beneath my feet.
While I hear the sounds of God's creation,
I couldn't help but notice that the river flows
like the wind above your nose.
Drippa, drippa, drippa,
the pebbles drop into the river.
I always dream of a boy and his Dad
having the most fun time of all.
Green Grass by Gasinator
Green grass goes and pass.
Winter is killing, the grass turns brown;
Not a peep, not a sound.
Only you can hear wind howl.
Summer grass is beautiful,
like a rose falling from its stem.

Poetry is such a lost art! I am so glad that you are creating a desire in your child for it!
What great little poets!!!
How exciting! We love poetry here. I read them all to my kiddos.
I loved reading their poems! It just reminds me of the many privileges we have as homeschoolers. Your kids were able to enjoy nature at their own pace and have time to reflect on it. You can really see their creativity shine. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful poems! I'm longing for spring to go on hikes again.
Kysha: What a wonderful, lovely day you had! I really enjoyed the wonderful poetry your sons wrote. You are doing an amazing job with them.

Great job, Mom. Your children and husband are very blessed.
You go Mom! These poems are evidence of good teaching and hard work on Mama's part. Tell your sons that their writing is impressive.
Those are wonderful! Very creative. You have some very talented kids!
They did an awesome job on their poems!
Glad you are joining the challenges. Wow, such great work on the poems. These will make great additions to their nature journals.
