Priorities Priorities Priorities

I have been doing a lot of thinking, reflecting and soul searching over the past several weeks and more intensely this week. I have decided to take a bloggy break for an undisclosed amount of time. I may return next week, next month or next year. I'm not sure but my children and my home need me at this time. I have only one shot at this mothering thing and I want to enjoy it to the fullest. As SAHMs and especially homeschool moms, we have so much on our plates and it can become difficult to find a balance amongst things at many times. One area goes into neglect while another area is focused upon and vice versa. Lately, I haven't been able to find the right balance and after much prayer I feel the need to pull away from my blog. I thank everyone for reading my blog and I am so grateful if you have been blessed from it. It is truly my heart's desire to bless others as I learn along this journey also. I've been truly blessed from the many friendships that I have made through blogging. Again thank you for reading and thank you for understanding. God bless you. :)

Kysha,

Sorry to hear this! I love your blog...I check it everyday b/c it is so encouraging. However, your family is more important! I too have felt that I've been neglecting some areas and know that I need to prioritize.

God Bless!

Kysha, you are so brave to take the first step in taking back time for you and your family. I can tell you love your family so much, and this is just more proof. I haven't commented much lately (anywhere, actually), but have been following. You'll be missed, but take all the time you need!

Kysha,
I completely understand. Completely. I deleted my blog on Friday. I miss it. I even cried over it! I know that may sound silly, but a few of the posts were really from my heart. Remember the one about forgiving my alcoholic Daddy? I know that over time I won't miss it so much and I know am pleasing the Lord and my family by not constantly being in front of the computer. At some point I may blog again, but right now I need to put my focus on the Lord and my family.

Of course you know it goes without saying that I love your blog, but I do want to say a little more.

Before I "met" you, I was so bitter and hostile towards life and a lot of things that I don't want to go into detail about here, but I'm sure you know.

Your blog has been such an inspiration. I've never seen an African American Christian woman so strong in her love for homeschooling, her family, and her faith. That's what attracted me to you on HSReviews and subsequently to your blog.

Take all the time you need for yourself and your family. If you come back in a day, a week, a month, a year, or even longer, just know that there is a loving family of "cyber-Moms" waiting for you with open arms.

I admire your commitment to keeping your priorities in order. It's probably a lesson I need to be working on myself, ;-).

Yay for you and your family! Boo hoo for me. I LOVE your blog and check it almost daily, but you are doing the right thing if the Holy Spirit is telling you to. I will be checking back periodically. Blessings...

I love my blog as a source of catharsis and as someone who probably should have been a writer it's my outlet... but I totally get why some need to pull away.

I wish you the best in dealing with whatever it is that you are.
