Weekly Report

I'm sorry but this will be a picture free report. I can't believe that I didn't take any pics this week of my sons' work! How sad! LOL! Oh, well. Here's our brief report from our light week. I think we enjoyed last week's break a little too well.

Sneaker:
Grammar-Daily Grams grammar review and Vocabulary Cartoons
History- researched the role and duties of the Pope. Read about Capetian France. He's still reading King Arthur.
Math- I forgot to mention that we made a switch to MEPs Secondary Math this year. I've been so busy that I had totally forgotten to mention this. It is wonderful! I call it spiral with critical thinking + fun = progress. He's working with Binary numbers which is something that we haven't really covered in our former program. We are skipping previously covered topics.
Spanish- listened to audio cd for review
Bible- We are discussing Know What You Believe by Paul E. Little
Co-op: Drama and Dave Ramsey Financial Teen class

No science, logic, formal writing or computers this week. I truly neglected my highschooler this week. :( Well, he knows Mom and next week will definitely be a different story. Ha! Prepare to work!

Gasinator, Politician, and Old Man:
Bible- We started Kay Arthur's How to Study the Bible. It's a wonderful lesson on inductive studying. I'm learning with them. They are also listening in on Know What You Believe with my oldest son.
Math- area and perimeter. We are truly loving MEP. We are still using MUS for extra drill although they complained of boredom. MEP has everyones vote.
Spelling- copywork and dictation from an literature exerpt from Stephen Crane
Grammar- Identifying the Sentence: subjects and verbs. KISS has been a hit here. I love the way that they are required to think why reading a sentence. We started off in the Level 1 but found the workbooks work much easier since I don't have the time to pull sentences from our literature as much. The workbook literature exercises are done for me. I just add more sentences from our literature if more drill is needed on a concept.
Writing- We are finishing the last writing portion of Rod and Staff while we wait for Write with the Best. We are mainly reviewing letter writing and more detailed writing.
Geography- completed map of Europe and flag of France. We also learned about some important facts and details about France's culture and history.
Science- We read about some extinct animals and why they are extinct.
Latin- We actually restarted Latin. Yay! We are on lesson 2. LOL! Hey, the important thing is that we did it! They have excelled with it. I think it's my organization skills that has prevented our continuance. I'm working on that. Trust me.
Reading- They each have their personal library books. Gasinator is reading Lord of the Rings.
Politician is reading The Corn Raid and Old Man is reading Julie's Wolf Pack.
co-op: music theory, drama, health/PE

No logic this week.

Have a blessed weekend!

You really have this all tied up. I hope I can be as good a homeschool teacher/mom as you. Honestly, you make it seem so easy.

I wanted to ask you about Living what they believe. Is that an audio program or is it a book? I see your older one is doing it. How young do you think a child could start that?

We did KISS grammar last year. It was great. I never got photos up on my blog.

Blessings always,
