It's Official!

I have a college student!

Batman had freshmen orientation today and we were there from 9 til 2. He was so excited especially when he received his student ID card. LOL! I think he was simply thinking of the discounts that would accompany the use of it. After another tour of the campus and free lunch from the staff, he registered for his classes and then we headed home. Classes begin August 3! Only two weeks away! Am I ready? Is he ready? No turning back now. :)

The younger ones will be starting their new school year with My Father's World Creation to Greeks on Sept. 1. We are wrapping up a year with Exploring Countries and Cultures after taking several breaks throughout our last couple of months due to personal family matters although we have had some great summer outings in between as well. The gang is excited and so am I. I'm ready to start something new and fresh. By the way, everything that we are using in the upcoming year is listed in my sidebar. I will post more about those choices later but for now, we will enjoy the rest of summer and wrap up some ends.

We have summer passes to an amusement park that we have to use a few more times and we have a zoo/planetarium/aquarium trip coming up too. I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer. I have noticed how quiet some other blogs and forums have been due to the summer. I can't wait to get back into the swing of things.................what am I saying? LOL

Congratulations! How exciting for your son - and you, too!

School is almost in full gear at my house - although we've got a lot of field trips coming up in the next few days. It is so fun to start using new books - I think my kids enjoy it, too!

I'm with you. I need to get back into the swing of things myself. With so many children I HAVE to have structure and I don't get much of it once summer rolls in.

WOW! It's really here, huh?!

Due to a little unexpected life, we're holding off until the spring semester, but it'll be here a lot sooner that I'd really like.

Congratulations to you and your son. You made it!
