I had been recently asked that question and I have to admit that's a really great question. I had pondered over whether to continue my children's home education throughout my divorce and as I began employment again but God kept answering with the same response. I wanted him to say "Yes! Send them to school, Kysha!" but every answer pointed to their staying home including my job. I was offered a job opportunity that would allow me to continue homeschooling. I prayed that God would give me a job as such if He wanted me to continue and He did just that. I do contract nursing work for two days per week.
Next, He placed homeschooling upon the hearts of my children. They begged me not to put them into public or private school. This was a shocker because they had always occasionally asked to go back every since coming home 5 years ago. LOL! Every now and then, they would get the "I miss hanging with my friends all day" syndrome (usually comes during the start of a new school year) but this year has been totally different. I think it's related to the Back to School ads and shows. My children actually asked me or more like pleaded that I would not place them in a traditional school setting. Also, God just allowed me to meet so many wonderful people through my local homeschool group who blessed us in so many ways with homeschooling material, prayers and encouraging words. Some things given and some things loaned but I'm humbly grateful all the same.
Lastly, God had spoken to my heart. I felt such conviction about the matter and peace when I answered the call. He never calls us to do the easiest things. Many times, He calls us not only for the benefits of others but He also wants to do something in us....something personal that we are dealing with as well. I give up easily at times and I run away from confrontation. I doubt myself and grow weary. Homeschooling has allowed me to tackle those things in which I have dreaded and have been so fearful. Am I stronger today than yesterday? Absolutely while yet continuing to learn and grow even more. As I said, He never calls us to do something that is easy but He will equip you to answer the call.
If you are facing the decision whether to continue your homeschool journey, be encouraged and hang in there. Pray. Definitely get with the sisters in your homeschool group and church. They can be blessings in more ways than one and definitely pray about it. Seek God.

What a great post! "He never calls us to do the easiest thing." You are sooo right! I pray many blessings in your home school this year!
You know, I really needed to read this today. You are always so right on time with your posts.
We've been having a lot of financial stress lately and I've considered going back to work full time, but I just can't bring myself to do it and Mom #2 and Baby Boy are adamantly against it. Somehow we keep eeking by each month. It's not pretty, but it IS happening. I guess that's just a sign that I'm right where I belong.
I know your children appreciate your dedication to both their educational and spiritual success.
Keep us posted on how Mr. College is doing as well. Baby Boy will be there soon . . . and we're both a bit nervous.
Take care!
Yes! Isn't great when we get out of God's way and He provides perfectly.
Peace
I am honored that you shared my question on your blog...and wow! look how God has used your answer to bless others. May He continue to empower you to serve Him, wherever He may call.
You keep going girl! We are here to cheer you on!

Aw, Kysha, you're an amazing woman!!! I, too, continue to pray for you! XOXO Tina
Hi Kysha :)
What a precious, encouraging post! Thanks :) Love to you and prayers, Q
This was a great post. I just love your faith and all the spunk that goes with it. I think I have officially made it one year without questioning our decision. After homeschooling for four years, I think it's time to have a little confidence!
I don't know what to say, Kysha. Except I am glad that you are answering God's call! You encourage me.
Love,
Marsha
Can I just tell you how much I admire and respect you! So many people want to take the easy way out and fail to see that our God is a big enough God and will supply ALL of our needs! There is lots of ministry's that help single homeschool mom's and my hat's off to all those that go the extra mile. I highly respect you! My sister is single and homeschools as well! My mother was single and homeschooled my brother, sister and I too!
Keep fighting the good fight! The greatest ministry you'll ever have is your family! Have you read, "Family Driven Faith" by Voddie Baucham? Read that if you get a chance! You will not regret it!
You are so right.
I pray regarding my sons' education (to homeschool or not) each year and allow God to order my steps. This year, I was led to place Firstborn in public school and I cried for two weeks. I still haven't adjusted to not seeing him throughout the day, but he is enjoying it and doing well.
I must admit, it was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do. I still have one at home and I'm enjoying homeschooling even more.
